50+ Chili and Apple Pie Cook Off
Friday, September 17 11:30am–1:30pm at Vogelei Barn (corner of Higgins and Golf)
Do you make the best chili? Does your apple pie make people drool? Then sign up to compete in a Chili and Apple Pie Cook off! There will be 3 judges to taste test your favorite recipes for Chili and/or Apple Pie. If you aren’t a cook, simply come to enjoy the great food!

Chili and apple pie, of course! Plus all of your favorite chili and apple pie condiments and toppings!

Interviews with contestants: 11:30am
Lunch: 12:00pm

Contestants must sign up at the 50+ Club Senior Desk by Friday, September 10, 2010.
(Contestants – please plan to make your recipe available the day of the event.)
To just come and dine, there will be a $4 fee. Diners must sign up at the service desk by Tuesday, September 14, 2010.

Line Dancing Lessons
Tush Push, Slapping Leather, The Skip, The Electric Slide...these are just a few of the line dances you'll be learning and practicing from an instructor with over 20 years of experience. These dances can be picked up easily while you have an absolute ball doing them!
Basic Exercise & Movement

Gentle Yoga
Always wanted to try yoga? If you're looking for a gentle movement class to bring ease back into your body, Gentle Yoga is for you. This class focuses on deep breathing combined with exercises to build strength, increase flexibility and reduce stress.

The afternoon begins with seating at your table, where you can order drinks and enjoy the spectacular views of the city. When the Grand Lunch Buffet opens, you will be able to indulge in delicious fare including freshly prepared entrees, salads, desserts and more. After lunch, enjoy sweet desserts with the star-quality performers dazzle with a Broadway-style show that features music and dance. When the curtain closes, you can walk about the vessel to enjoy more spectacular sightseeing, or join the DJ with great party tracks and dancing until your ship returns to dock. Park District transportation included in fee.

We're rounding up our Seniors for a few hours of feasting, fellowship and fun. Line Dancing: the newest country line dances led by a professional line dance instructor! We're as different from each other as everybody else, and boy do we have a lot on our minds. Come see our entertaining musical production and we'll share the benefit of our life experiences with you. They say with age comes wisdom. Couldn't we all use a little spice in our lives? How about A Pinch of Sage? Park District transportation included in fee. Presidential Footsteps - Hyde Park and Kenwood

What better time than election time to take the Chicago Neighborhood tour, retracing the path of our President Barack Obama from downtown Chicago, south on scenic Lake Shore Drive arriving in the acclaimed Hyde Park/Kenwood neighborhoods of Chicago, and including Grant Park's Hutchinson Field where the President gave his victory speech on election night before 250,000 people. Other highlights include President Obama and the first lady's former condo, a glimpse of their home in Kenwood prior to arriving at the White House, his favorite book store, one of his favorite restaurants, the spot where he and wife Michelle shared their first kiss and the much publicized outdoor basketball courts where he played so many pick up games in the shadows of the Museum of Science and Industry. Later, enjoy lunch at Manny's Deli & Coffee, acclaimed for its famous corned beef sandwich and another Obama favorite.
